Residential Central Vacuum Request a Survey and Demonstration
The installation of a Centravac central vacuum system is easier and less expensive than you may think.
Vacuum systems can be installed in existing buildings as part of a renovation, conversions or just simply to install the vacuum system to gain the benefits. Our engineering department will arrange a free survey and demonstration, advising on Vacuum Power Unit positioning, wall inlet positions and ducting routes and will arrange a written quotation without any obligation.

Installation in a new construction development is simple. The installer will usually make two trips to the development.
The first visit will be during the planning stage, which includes running the special vacuum PVC pipe and planning the location of the inlets. The second visit takes place after the walls are finished. The installer adds the finishing touches by placing the inlets and hanging the power unit.

For Architects and Developers - Send the plans of your development to us here and we will specify and cost a Centravac vacuum system for you. The Centravac ranges of vacuum units are ideal for the building market.

DIY - Self Installation

We will provide you with easy to follow instructions:

Step 1

Central Vacuum Unit Vacuum Power Unit - The first step is to choose the location of the Vacuum Power Unit and wall inlets. Generally we recommend the vacuum power unit is installed in a garage, basement or utility room. This permits the machine to be out of the way helping to reduce any noise. It is also good practice to choose a location near an exterior wall to minimise the length of the exhaust run.

Step 2

Central Vacuum Inlet Wall Inlet (Wall Socket) Locations - The next step is to find the shortest or easiest route between the vacuum power unit and the wall inlets in order to install the ducting. It is often best to follow existing installations for plumbing, heating, air conditioning or electrical wiring and take advantage of access through floors and walls that are already available. Potential furniture placement should be considered when determining wall inlet locations. They are typically positioned level with the height of electrical receptacles.

Step 3

Central Vacuum installation tubing In-wall Tubing and Low Voltage Wiring - Tubing and low voltage wiring are run in tandem to each valve location, expediting installation time. Both are installed at the beginning with the inlet valve farthest from the unit.

With good planning, it is possible to avoid messy jobs such as drilling through floors or opening walls to install ducting in an existing home. See the diagram below for illustration purposes only. Please Contact Us for our further information or download our installation guide.
